About ISKCON Temple

The ISKCON temple located in Nampally, Hyderabad is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha Mohan. The main deity of this temple is Lord Krishna. However, the temple also has other deities such as Sri Gaura-Nitai, Sri Jagannath Baladeva-Subhadra, and Sri Radha Madan-Mohana. These deities are also worshiped along with Shri Krishna in the temple. The temple authorities organize devotional and religious lectures and preach Lord Krishna in the temple hall. Along with lectures, the authorities also organize daily pujas along with some special programs on Sundays to attract more devotees to the temple. The temple is a center for cultural and spiritual well-being and various social activities for the local people living in the temple.

Architecture of ISKCON Temple

The ISKCON temple follows the traditional Indian temple architectural style, known as the Nagara style, which is characterized by a pyramid-shaped tower (shikhara) over the main sanctum. This style is commonly found in North Indian temples. The exterior of the temple is mainly made of pristine white marble, giving it a pure and divine appearance. The use of white marble is reminiscent of many of the iconic temples of India. Elaborate and intricate carvings adorn the outer walls of the temple, which include depictions of Hindu deities, divine motifs and scenes from Hindu mythology. These carvings demonstrate craftsmanship and attention to detail in the design of the temple.
