About KVR Botanical Garden
Hyderabad Botanical Garden also known as Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Botanical Garden is located in Hitech City, Hyderabad. It was developed by the Telangana Forest Department and is 16 km from Hyderabad Railway Station on the Hyderabad-Mumbai Old Highway. The park is named after Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
The purpose of the botanical garden is to educate the public about the conservation and development of germplasm and to facilitate modern botanical gardens. In July 2018, Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated newly developed recreational facilities at the Botanical Gardens such as Nakshatra Vanam, Rasi Vanam and Navagraha Vanam.
Architecture of KVR Botanical Garden
The park is spread over an area of 274 acres (1.11 km) of undulating land and comprises 19 sectors or 'vanams'. The first phase is open to the public, containing medicinal plants, timber trees, fruit trees, ornamental plants, aquatic plants, bamboo etc. The park is designed to have large water bodies, rolling grasslands, natural forests, rich grasslands and exquisite rock formations.

- Hyderabad Botanical Garden is a southern tropical deciduous forest and one of the largest parks in Hyderabad. Flora and fauna also reside here.
- The main attractions of the park are the bamboo section, where one can see an unusual array of bamboo plants and the beautiful palm section.
- This Botanical Garden has a grand plan and part of the design consists of meadows, artistic rock formations, natural forests and rich grasslands.
- Like most botanical gardens, monsoon is the best time to visit KVR Botanical Garden. The best view of the garden is from the rain showers when life awakens and revives. The vegetation will be in full bloom and the fauna will rise up during the monsoons.
- This botanical garden is home to over 600 species of plants and a large variety of flowers add color to the garden. Rabelais, Passion Flower, Gerbera, Gloriasa Superba, State Flower of Telangana, Champak and Salvia are etc.
