About Salar Jung Museum
Salar Jung Museum is an art museum located at Dar-ul-Shifa on the southern bank of the city of Hyderabad. The Salar Jung family has a collection of rare art objects from around the world. It was given to the nation after the death of Salar Jung III. The collection was formerly exhibited as a private museum, named Salar Jung Museum, which was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru on 16 December 1951.

- One of the reasons why this museum is so famous not only among Indians but also among travelers from other parts of the world is that it houses one of the largest one-man collections of antiquities in the world.
- Salarjung Museum is known for its huge collection of more than 47,000 books, 43000 paintings and about 9000 holographs.
- The Clock Room is undeniably the most interesting feature of this museum which houses some truly mind-blowing clocks and has around 300 antique clocks to its name.
- Several exhibitions on various subjects are organized by the authorities frequently for the visitors. A wonderful initiative known as 'Mobile Exhibition Van' in the form of Museum Education brings a collection of antiquities on various themes and concepts to schools and villages.
- The museum also has a large Oran measuring 60×30 cm. Salar Jung Museum is one of the national museums of India and has an excellent library with a rare collection of 8,000 manuscripts and 60,000 printed books.
