About Sanjeevaiah Park

Sanjeevaiah Park is a public green space and park in the center of Hyderabad, India. The park was named after former President of India Dr. Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy. The park is managed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. The park won the Best Open Landscape award during the 2010 Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage award presentations. Sanjeevaiah Park is considered to be the oldest and largest park of Hyderabad. It is an ideal place for visitors to relax on the lawn and enjoy a wonderful family picnic. A separate walking path has been paved for visitors to enjoy a walk or a stroll in the park.

About 100 species of resident and non-resident birds and more than 50 species of insects and butterflies are present in the park. The second tallest Indian national flag is located in this park, the height of the flag pole is 291 feet (88.69 m) and the dimensions of the flag are 72 feet x 108 feet. The park occasionally organizes various events for the public. The park has encouraged public initiatives, from roller-skating races to social awareness campaigns.

This park has been developed in 4.5 acres. There are about 60 varieties of plants and trees that yield flowers and sap. These and other plantings play an important role in attracting butterflies.
