Talaki Darwaza, also known as Talaq Darwaza, is an ancient gateway located in Delhi, India. This historical structure holds significance because of its association with the Tughlaq dynasty and the architectural heritage of Delhi. The Talaki Darwaza was built during the reign of Firuz Shah Tughlaq, who was the Sultan of Delhi from 1351 to 1388. Firoz Shah Tughlaq was known for his architectural achievements and contribution to the city of Delhi. The gateway served as the entrance to the Firoz Shah Kotla fort complex, a citadel and palace complex built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq. The complex included various structures such as palaces, mosques, gardens and other administrative buildings. The Talaki Darwaza probably played a role in controlling access to the royal fort area.
