Taramati Baradari is a historical inn located near Gandhipet in the west, about 14.5 km from Hyderabad city. Taramati Baradari is associated with many legends. The Persian style garden was built in 1625 AD on the banks of the Musi river during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah, the second Sultan of Golconda. The tourism department credits the reign of the seventh Sultan of Golconda, Abdullah Qutb Shah, whom he named after his favorite prostitute, Taramati Kuchipudi dancer.
Architecture of Taramati Baradari
There was only one open pavilion in memory of Taramati, which symbolizes the indigenous Persian style of architecture. Taramati Baradari Mandap has 12 doors and was constructed to allow cross ventilation. The open pavilion houses an air-cooled theater with a capacity of 500 people, an open-air auditorium with a capacity of 1,600, a banquet hall with a capacity of 250, a multi-cuisine restaurant and a swimming pool.
