About Hutheesing Jain Temple
Hathinsing Jain Temple in Ahmedabad, 1848 BC It was built at a cost of Rs 10 lakh donated by a businessman, Sheth Hathising. Its height is about 78 feet. It has the exclusive work of Premchandra Salat and is made of white stone which is a specimen of exquisite craftsmanship for Salat. The temple is managed under the guidance of the Huthising Parivar Trust and the temple is considered a symbol of reverence and faith.
Architecture of Hutheesing Jain Temple
The 78 meter tall tower located here resembles the Chittor Tower of Rajasthan. The carvings on this tower are very similar to the Mughal design. The temple is based on 12 ornate pillars and supported domes. The front portion is splendidly decorated with a 'dome' shaped structure. The entrance has exquisite mirror work with architectural elements. The Madhyama temple forms a long gallery on its three sides.
