About Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary
Nalsarovar is a bird sanctuary mainly inhabited by migratory birds as their winter home. Nal Sarovar Lake is situated at the lowest point between Central Gujarat and East Saurashtra.
It has been a bird sanctuary since April 1969 and has been a Ramsar site since 24 September 2012 The lake is home to over 200 different bird species, most of which are waterfowl such as pink pelicans, small and large flamingos, crekes, brahmin ducks, purple moorhen, herons, white storks, various species of bitter gourd.

By Air:- On arrival at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport in Ahmedabad, cabs can be booked from local operators to reach Nalsarovar.
By Rail: Tourists can reach Nalsarovar via Viramgam, which is the nearest railway station. It is located about 36 km from the sanctuary which takes about an hour to reach.
By Road: Ahmedabad is well connected to various neighboring cities of India by an excellent network of roads. Private taxis or buses can be hired from here to reach Nalsarovar.
