About Kankaria Lake
If we talk about the name of Kankaria lake, then no one knows why it was named Kankaria, but many stories are formed by local people, One of the stories says that the name Kankaria was chosen due to the huge piles of limestone that was dug out during its excavation for the formation of the beautiful artificial lake.
The second story said Sultan Qutb-ud-din put a question to Shah Alam, who was a saint, to choose a blank ground for the pond and the garden, who then scattered the pebbles and created the beautiful lake, from which the Kankaria lake was named.
