About Swaminarayan Temple
Swami Narayan Mandir is a temple dedicated to Narayan Dev located in the Kalupur area of Ahmedabad. This was the first temple built by Swami Adinath during the British period and was built in 1822. This temple is constructed from Burmese teak wood. Swaminarayan had installed many idols in this temple, there is a special section for women where education and ceremonies are held for them.
This temple is a festival of colors and is immersed in the ancient colors of the old city. Temple of Gujarat Lord Swaminarayan is the presiding deity of this temple. The temple is an architectural marvel, the temple is a perfect amalgamation of art, culture and devotion. Standing in the vast lawns of this beautiful temple is an intricately carved structure of Lord Swaminarayan.

The carvings on this temple are very similar to the Mughal design.The temple is based on 12 ornate pillars and supported domes. Hundreds of skilled craftsmen were employed in the construction of the temple who supported them for a period of two years.
