About Kankaria Zoo
Kamala Nehru Zoological Park, popularly known as Kankaria Zoo, was established in 1951 by Reuben David. This zoo is spread over 21 acres. The zoo has 450 mammals, 2,000 birds, 140 reptiles. The Kankaria Zoo also has a record of breeding rare species like pythons, crocodiles, bears and wild donkeys. Reuben David was awarded Padma Shri in 1974 for it.
