About Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary
Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is located in South India bordering the Kozhikode and Malappuram districts of the state of Kerala. This phenomenal destination is surrounded by hills where the Kadalundi River meets the Arabian Sea. This untouched land has more than 60 species of migratory birds from all over the planet that come here at different times of the year. The ideal time to see seagulls, terns, sandpipers, sand plovers, red and greenshanks, turnstones etc. is from November to April.
It is also home to several species of butterflies, fish, crabs, mussels and turtles. The sanctuary is managed by Vallikunnu and Kadalundi It is being done by the Government Gram Panchayat. The organization looks after this exotic reserve and the birds that live in it.
