About Thikkoti Light House
The Calicut Beach Lighthouse was constructed in 1847 and the tower is 15 meters high and painted white. Nestled amidst the Velliyamkalli Rock on one side and the glimmering blue sea on the other, Thikkoti Lighthouse is surrounded by lush green coconut and palm plantations. The structure was built after a shipwreck and now serves as a major attraction for tourists. It also serves as a seasonal home to many varieties of migratory birds.
