About Kakkayam Dam

Kakkayam Dam is located in the Kozhikode district of Kerala which is one of the tourist attractions of Kerala. Kakkayam Dam is about 60 kms from Kozhikode city. This place is also an interesting place for trekking and rock climbing. Nowadays it is also famous for eco and wildlife tourism activities. Near the dam site, various animals including elephants can be seen.

There is a forest office at the top of the dam. Nice place to visit with family and friends. The water of this dam is used for irrigation and drinking purposes. It is a scenic place that offers the visitors a serene atmosphere with lots of recreational activities.

By Railway: The nearest railway station is Kozhikode station which is at a distance of 66 kms from Kakkayam town. One can take a cab directly to the dam site.

From Airport:- The distance of Kakkayam Dam from Karipur International Airport is 80 km. From here you can book a cab to reach the dam.
