About Sargaalaya Kerala Arts

The museum is an arts and crafts village established by the Kerala Tourism Department. It has a large number of stalls selling various ethnic crafts and also houses a Crafts Design and Technology Development Centre, which provides training to craftsmen to learn new techniques in traditional handicrafts. Some stalls are very unique and almost all stalls are outlets for selling the products on display.

The annual International Arts and Crafts Festival is held here every year from 20 December to 05 January, attracting artisans from all over the world to register. It is also the largest handicrafts fair in South India.

1. Visitors can learn some craft making skills from the artisans.
2. There are 5 dozen stalls for sale and exhibition of handicrafts made of fiber, bamboo, coir, sand, coconut, palm etc.
3. You can get a verity of handmade jewelry, home furniture, figurines and gift items.
4. The museum is situated on the banks of the Murad River and tourists can enjoy boating here.
5. This project is really inspiring and has definitely emerged as a landmark. 6.This facility was created by the Government of Kerala to encourage local artisans to showcase their products.

By Bus:- Vadakara Bus Stop is 6.4 km away from the museum. You can take any bus from here and reach easily.

By Rail:- Iringal Railway Station is 2.6 km away from the museum. You can take a rickshaw from the station and go comfortably.

By Road:- You can take rickshaw or auto to go to the museum which you will easily find here and you can easily reach the museum.
