About Madras Crocodile Bank Trust

The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust was established in 1976 by herpetologist Romulus Whittaker and his wife, Zay Whittaker. It was established with the primary mission of conserving and protecting endangered reptile species, especially crocodiles. Over the years, Crocodile Bank has expanded its focus to include the conservation of various reptiles, tortoises and turtles.
