About Marina Beach
Marina beach in Chennai along the Bay of Bengal is the longest beach in India and the second longest in the world. It is mainly spread over a sandy stretch of about 12 km from Besant Nagar in the south to Fort St George in the north. The Chennai Marina beach was renovated in the 1880s by Governor Mountstuart Elphinstone Grant Duff. Unlike the smaller, rocky formations that make up Juhu Beach in Mumbai, the marina is predominantly sandy.
