The Bada Ganapati Temple located in Indore is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The name of the temple is Bada Ganapati because the temple has a huge idol of Lord Ganesha about 25 feet in height, which is the largest idol of Lord Ganesha in the world.This temple was built by Pandit Narayan Dadhich in 1875. The Ganesh idol is made of limestone, jaggery, bricks, mud and water.
It is believed that the soil used for the construction of this idol was purchased from the seven holy cities of Ayodhya, Mathura, Kanchi, Maya, Avantika, Varanasi and Dwarka.

- The idol of Ganesh ji is made of a mixture of limestone, jaggery, sand, fenugreek seeds, clay, gold, silver, iron, ashtadhatu, nine gems and water from all holy pilgrimage rivers.

- When the idol was being constructed in the temple, it took 3 years.
- It takes 8 days to decorate the Bada Ganapati idol.
