About Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park

Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park is spread over 17 acres of greenery located in the heart of the city. The park was opened in the year 1995, and is apparently the first park in the country to have a computerized musical fountain, based on multimedia technology, MIDI interface and hardware architecture. The park is maintained by the Horticulture Department and includes a play garden for children. This park is a major attraction for tourists, due to its beauty, crowds can be seen here.

Spread over an area of 17 hectares, this park has a capacity of about 700 to 1000 people.

  1. Each of the park's lush green spaces serves as great spots for morning walks, evening walks and small picnics.
  2. The National Military Memorial located right next to the park is also a major attraction for the visitors.
  3. The visual delight of the light and sound show along with the synchronous rhythmic dance of the fountains provides a highly visual treat.
  4. Shows are held every evening at 7 pm and 8 pm for 30 minutes.
  5. People gather in large numbers to watch the spectacular fountain dance. With more than 1000 nozzles, the fountain makes about 15 structures and 27 different combinations.
