Sitabuldi Fort, Nagpur
The citadel located atop a hillock in central Nagpur is present at the site where the Battle of Sitabuldi was fought between the British and the Kingdom of Nagpur in 1817. It was built by Mudhjoi ll Bhonsle and has been a witness to the third Anglo-Maratha war. Its rich historic significance and its presence on hillocks popularly called Badi Tekri the large hill, and Choti Tekri the small hill draws a multitude of visitors from world-over. A memorial has been erected inside the fort to commemorate the death of the soldiers during the war. The fort is currently occupied by the Indian Army and remains open for the public visit on the National Holidays.

Zero Mile Marker, Nagpur
It is a monument erected by the British during the Great Trigonometrical Survey of India in 1907. Located in the southeast direction to Vidhya Bhawan the Zero Mile Maker indicates the geographical center of India. This became the benchmark and the point was used to measure all distances. The monument consists of the main pillar made of sandstone, another small stone depicting the GTS Standard Benchmark, and four horses that were added later. The height of the main pillar is 1020.171 feet above the sea level. Located at the center of the country, the British intended to make Nagpur the second capital city.
