The Delhi Cabinet has approved three new metro corridors at a cost of Rs 12,014.91 crore, targeted for completion by 2028, which will improve the city's connectivity and reduce pollution.

The Delhi Metro has announced changes to its services on February 12th to facilitate spectators attending the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 match between India and Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The match is scheduled to begin at around 7 p.m. and is expected to continue until late in the evening. To accommodate the large number of spectators expected to attend the match, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has extended the last train timings on most lines. Normally, metro services close between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., but on match days, trains will run later to ensure fans can return home safely and without overcrowding. This one-day change is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and managing potential crowds at major stations near the stadium.

The Magenta Line (Line 8) of the Delhi Metro network is set to be the longest corridor, with the most interchange stations and underground stations. Officials stated on February 11, 2026, that this extension is expected to significantly improve cross-city connectivity in Delhi-NCR. In light of the recently approved Phase V (A) corridor, i.e., the extension of Line 8 (Magenta Line) from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha (via Central Vista), the Indraprastha-Indralok corridor of Phase IV will be implemented as an extension of the Magenta Line. With these additions, the total length of the Magenta Line, extending from Noida Botanical Garden to Indralok, will be approximately 89 kilometers, making it the longest corridor in the Delhi Metro network.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the final phase of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Corridor on February 22nd. Services will now operate on the entire route, from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut, marking a significant milestone for the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The inauguration will also coincide with the launch of Meerut Metro services, enabling seamless communication between high-speed Namo Bharat trains and the metro network within the city.

Following a long-standing demand from local residents and the community, the Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 Metro Station in East Delhi has been renamed Shri Ram Mandir Mayur Vihar. The decision was taken by the Delhi State Naming Authority, chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on 3 february 2026 that the government has installed either mist spray systems or "anti-smog guns" at all 143 elevated metro stations in the city. "Tackling air pollution is the government's top priority and concrete, practical measures are being implemented at the ground level," the chief minister said. As part of this effort, 131 mist spray systems and 12 anti-smog guns have been installed so far in busy and sensitive areas like metro stations.

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved the Delhi-Bawal RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System) corridor. Officials confirmed that earlier there was a plan to develop the RRTS corridor from Delhi to Dharuhera in Gurugram, but now the plan has been revised and the Delhi-Bawal RRTS corridor has been finalised. Officials said that the Haryana government had approved the RRTS corridor from Delhi to Bawal and submitted the proposal to the Union ministry last year for final approval.

The Central Secretariat Metro station in Delhi is set to be transformed into a triple interchange station with the Phase V(A) extension. This will connect the Yellow, Violet, and upcoming Magenta lines, making it accessible to thousands of commuters and visitors daily.

दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम (डीएमआरसी) ने शहर में उसके निर्माण स्थलों पर लगभग 20 किलोमीटर की बैरिकेडिंग लगाई गई है, साथ ही 17 किलोमीटर के ब्लिंकर और एलईडी लाइटें भी लगाई गई हैं। डीएमआरसी ने बताया कि मेट्रो निर्माण स्थलों के आसपास पैदल यात्रियों और वाहनों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए इन स्थानों पर 270 से अधिक ट्रैफिक मार्शल तैनात किए गए हैं। निर्माण स्थलों के पास संवेदनशील यातायात बिंदुओं पर यातायात की गति धीमी करने के लिए सड़कों पर स्टड लगाए गए हैं। कार्य प्रगति पर है या आगे वैकल्पिक मार्ग है, यह दर्शाने वाले चेतावनी संकेत भी लगाए गए हैं।

दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन (DMRC) ने बताया कि 26 जनवरी को सभी लाइनों पर मेट्रो सर्विस सुबह 3 बजे शुरू हो जाएंगी। जल्दी शुरू करने का मकसद रिपब्लिक डे सेलिब्रेशन में ड्यूटी पर आए लोगों को आने-जाने में आसानी करना है। DMRC ने बताया कि सभी लाइनों पर ट्रेनें सुबह 3 बजे से सुबह 6 बजे तक 15 मिनट के गैप पर चलेंगी। सुबह 6 बजे के बाद, बाकी दिन मेट्रो सर्विस रेगुलर टाइमटेबल के हिसाब से चलेंगी।

दिल्ली मेट्रो परियोजना में प्रगति हुई है क्योंकि दिल्ली सरकार ने दिल्ली मेट्रो चरण 4 के शेष तीन कॉरिडोर के लिए 3,386.18 करोड़ रुपये की धनराशि जारी कर दी है। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि लाजपत नगर-साकेत जी-ब्लॉक कॉरिडोर और इंद्रलोक-इंद्रप्रस्थ कॉरिडोर को एक ही वित्तीय ढांचे के तहत रखा गया है, जिसकी कुल परियोजना लागत ₹8,399.81 करोड़ है। इस संयुक्त चरण में दिल्ली सरकार का योगदान ₹1,987.86 करोड़ है। इस बीच, रिठाला-कुंडली कॉरिडोर की अनुमानित लागत लगभग ₹6,230.99 करोड़ है। इस कॉरिडोर के लिए दिल्ली सरकार ₹1,398.32 करोड़ प्रदान करेगी। इस विस्तार से एनसीआर में कनेक्टिविटी और बढ़ेगी और राजधानी में आवागमन संबंधी चुनौतियों का समाधान होगा।

दिल्ली मेट्रो के यात्रियों के लिए खुशखबरी है कि दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम (डीएमआरसी) 31 जनवरी से बाइक टैक्सी, ऑटो-रिक्शा और कैब सेवाएं शुरू करने जा रहा है। टीओआई की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, 10 व्यस्त मेट्रो स्टेशनों से यात्रियों को घर पहुंचने में आसानी होगी। डीएमआरसी ने यह निर्णय दैनिक यात्रियों के लिए प्रतीक्षा समय कम करने और सुगम यात्रा विकल्प प्रदान करने के लिए लिया है। निगम प्रमुख बाजार केंद्रों के पास स्थित 10 मेट्रो स्टेशनों - नई दिल्ली, नेहरू प्लेस, लाजपत नगर, राजीव चौक और मिलेनियम सिटी सेंटर - पर यह सेवा शुरू करने जा रहा है।

अधिकारियों ने रविवार को बताया कि दिल्ली मेट्रो की एयरपोर्ट एक्सप्रेस लाइन पर धौला कुआं और शिवाजी स्टेडियम स्टेशनों के बीच सिग्नलिंग केबल चोरी की कोशिश के बाद खराब हो जाने की वजह से ट्रेनें कम स्पीड पर चलाई जा रही हैं। दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन (DMRC) ने बताया कि चोरी की कोशिश के दौरान दोनों स्टेशनों के बीच के हिस्से में करीब 800 मीटर सिग्नलिंग केबल कट गईं, जिससे सिग्नलिंग सिस्टम में दिक्कत आई। DMRC ने बताया कि इस वजह से, धौला कुआं और शिवाजी स्टेडियम स्टेशनों के बीच नई दिल्ली की ओर जाने वाले प्रभावित अप लाइन सेक्शन पर ट्रेनें 25 kmph की कम स्पीड पर चलाई जा रही हैं।

दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने घोषणा की है कि राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में सभी मेट्रो स्टेशनों के नामकरण का अधिकार अब पूरी तरह से दिल्ली सरकार के पास रहेगा। संशोधित प्रणाली के तहत, अनुमोदन केवल राज्य नामकरण प्राधिकरण (एसएनए) द्वारा ही प्रदान किए जाएंगे, जो मुख्यमंत्री के नेतृत्व वाला एक सरकारी निकाय है। यह बदलाव दिल्ली सरकार और दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम (डीएमआरसी) के बीच हाल ही में हुई एक संयुक्त बैठक के बाद हुआ है।

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने दिल्ली मेट्रो के चरण 5 (ए) परियोजना के अंतर्गत लगभग 12 हजार 15 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से तीन नए कॉरिडोर को मंजूरी दी है। ये कॉरिडोर आरके आश्रम मार्ग से इंद्रप्रस्थ, एयरोसिटी से एयरपोर्ट टर्मिनल-1 और तुगलकाबाद से कालिंदी कुंज तक हैं। मंत्रिमंडल की बैठक के बाद नई दिल्ली में मीडिया को जानकारी देते हुए सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने बताया कि इस विस्तार के साथ दिल्ली मेट्रो नेटवर्क 400 किलोमीटर से अधिक लंबा हो जाएगा।

The prestigious award was presented by President Smt. Draupadi Murmu on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day at Vigyan Bhawan and was received by Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, selected the station after a comprehensive evaluation of applications received from metro rail systems across the country.

दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन (DMRC) ने मैजेंटा लाइन के जनकपुरी वेस्ट - आरके आश्रम मार्ग एक्सटेंशन के हिस्से के तौर पर रेड लाइन पर पुलबंगश मेट्रो स्टेशन पर एक अंडरग्राउंड टनल का कंस्ट्रक्शन पूरा कर लिया है। यह टनल रेड लाइन पर पुलबंगश और मैजेंटा लाइन पर आने वाले सदर बाजार स्टेशन के बीच बनाई गई है।
