- The Aqua Line of Nagpur Metro was inaugurated on January 28, 2020.
- The Aqua Line serves 21 stations on its route, including Lokmanya Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Institute of Engineers, Kasturchand Park, Zero Mile and Sitabuldi Interchange.
- The average inter-station distance is 1.00 km which varies from approximately 0.65 km to 1.29 km depending on the site, operational and traffic requirements.

Nagpur Metro Aqua Line Extension in Phase 2
The Aqua Line (Line 2) of the Nagpur Metro is being expanded to a second phase. This phase includes two major extensions: a 6.6-km section from Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna in the west, known as Reach 3A, and a 5.5-km section from Prajapati Square to Transport Nagar in the east, known as Reach 4A.This project is planned to be completed by November 2027.

2025-10-21 - Savner MLA Ashish Deshmukh proposed extending the upcoming Nagpur Metro Phase-III corridor from Koradi to Khaparkheda. Deshmukh met with MahaMetro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar to present the proposal and formally discuss its feasibility.

2025-08-05 - MahaMetro has finalised a new corridor connecting Sitabuldi and Koradi under Nagpur Metro Phase 3, as part of the city’s Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP). The decision was taken during a high-level meeting on 27 July 2025 attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and senior officials.

2025-07-21 - Colossus Infra Projects Pvt Ltd will provide train operation and station control services for the Nagpur Metro Rail Project for a period of 2 years (730 days). Colossus Infra Projects Pvt Ltd has received this contract from Maha-Metro (Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation). The value of the contract is Rs 21.2 crore. The Nagpur Metro Rail Project will be completed in two phases. Currently, the first phase of Nagpur Metro is fully operational, while the second phase is under construction.
