The Nana Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) achieved its third breakthrough on Sunday in the approximately 4 km long underground section between Chuniganj to Nayaganj in the Kanpur Metro. On Sunday, Nana TBM reached Bada Chauraha, completing the construction of about 510 meter upline tunnel from Naveen Market to Bada Chauraha. Nana TBM was launched on 15 July 2023 from Naveen Market Metro Station.

The development work on the Baradevi-Naubasta elevated section of the Kanpur Metro project is progressing rapidly. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is currently working on installing a total of 348 U-girders, which are being erected on the 5 km long stretch. As per the latest update, the authority has recently achieved a significant milestone, completing the installation of 100 U-girders on the route.

First L-beam casting was started on Baradevi-Naubasta elevated section under Kanpur Metro Rail Project. The casting process began at the under-construction Baradevi Metro Station during the night of July 24, 2023 and July 25, 2023. The Baradevi Metro station will require a total of three L-beams, each measuring 81.25 metres, which will serve as longitudinal, L-shaped beams for the installation of pie-girders during station construction.

Under the 4 km (approx) long Chunniganj-Nayaganj underground section of the Kanpur Metro Rail project, ‘Tatya’ Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) achieved its second breakthrough on Monday. With this, after Bada Chauraha to Nayaganj, now both the tunnels from Chunniganj to Naveen Market have also been completed. On Monday, Tatya TBM reached Naveen Market, completing the construction of about 728 metres of down-line tunnel from Chunniganj. Thanks to the efficient execution by the team of UPMRC, the work was completed in less than three and half months.
