After the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) shifted the Delhi-Shahjanpur-Behro Metro Rail Line to the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, the Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has decided to change the route of the old Gurugram Metro Line along the Old Delhi Road. The revised Metro route will now go towards the Delhi border up to Dundahera and then turn towards Shankar Chowk on NH-48. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on 3 february 2026 that the government has installed either mist spray systems or "anti-smog guns" at all 143 elevated metro stations in the city. "Tackling air pollution is the government's top priority and concrete, practical measures are being implemented at the ground level," the chief minister said. As part of this effort, 131 mist spray systems and 12 anti-smog guns have been installed so far in busy and sensitive areas like metro stations.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) approved two proposed metro corridors, from Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor and Hadapsar to Saswad Road, in February 2025. Both lines are expected to be constructed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The Hadapsar-Loni Kalbhor corridor is 11.352 km long and includes 10 stations, while the Hadapsar Bus Depot-Saswad Road corridor is 5.573 km long and includes 4 stations.
