Panna Meena ka Kund, Jaipur

Panna Meena Ki Baori is a tourist place in Rajasthan, which is located in Amer, Jaipur. This stepwell was built to store water in the olden times. Built in the 9th century, this stepwell was built by King Mihir Bhoj and after him the name of this stepwell was Chand Baori. Chand Baori is a step well, which is located in Abhaneri village of Dausa district near Jaipur in Rajasthan.

This 13 storey stepwell with 64 feet depth is more than 100 feet deep, in which there are 3500 steps in the form of a maze. This stepwell, the deepest in the world, is about 35 meters wide from all sides and in this step there are paved steps from top to bottom, so that no matter what the water level it can be filled easily.

1. When you start going to the depth of Chand Baori, then you will start feeling the decrease in temperature by 5-6 degrees. It is said that during the monsoon, this stepwell gets filled with water till the top.
2. The climate of this area is dry and there was a lot of water scarcity at that time, only then such a deep stepwell was constructed. The water stored in this well used to meet the needs of the local people for a year.
3. Bavadi is a concept that originated entirely from the Indian subcontinent and was the most famous supply of water in ancient times. These are often man-made pools of water that can be reached by descending a sequence of stairs.
4. People can acquire and sit on more than one level of the ladder, and exchange verbal exchanges. Though Panna Meena ka Kund has ceased to be a source of water now, it still serves as an area for locals and tourists to chit-chat and gather.
5. During summer and monsoon, you can see the little boys of the neighborhood competing with each other by jumping from the bank of the pool above into the pool.
