Agra Metro Network Blue Line Extension in Phase 1

The Agra Metro project has made progress as the Afcons-SAM India team conducted a test run on Line 1 of the Agra Metro, which stretches 14.25 km from Sikandra to Taj East Gate and has 14 stations. The Afcons-SAM India team conducted successful tests on a 6-kilometer stretch of Line 1 (upline corridor) between Mankameshwar Metro Station and ISBT. Senior officials from the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) were present during these tests.
◷ 2026-01-06 | ☍ Metro Rail NewsThe Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation team is set to conduct a trial run of the metro on the up line from ISBT to Bijli Ghar Chowk in Agra within the next 48 hours. Senior officials from Lucknow will arrive in Agra on Monday afternoon and will first inspect the track, after which one or two metro trains will be operated. The metro trial will continue for two months. Initially, the metro's speed will be 10 kilometers per hour, which will later be increased to 90 kilometers per hour. The trial run on the down line will begin in January. A corporation official said that a proposal has been prepared to start metro operations around the time of Holi.
