The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation team is set to conduct a trial run of the metro on the up line from ISBT to Bijli Ghar Chowk in Agra within the next 48 hours. Senior officials from Lucknow will arrive in Agra on Monday afternoon and will first inspect the track, after which one or two metro trains will be operated. The metro trial will continue for two months. Initially, the metro's speed will be 10 kilometers per hour, which will later be increased to 90 kilometers per hour. The trial run on the down line will begin in January. A corporation official said that a proposal has been prepared to start metro operations around the time of Holi.
◷ 2025-12-30 | ☍ JagranThe Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is currently under construction on a metro project in Agra, costing approximately ₹8,000 crore. Construction work has been completed from the RBS College Metro Station to the Khandari Ramp, part of the first corridor from Sikandra to the Taj East Gate. Track laying is also progressing rapidly. The RBS College Metro Station will provide improved connectivity for commuters traveling to and from nearby areas such as Delhi Gate and Sanjay Place. Similarly, work on the SN Medical College Metro Station, Agra College Metro Station, and Raja Ki Mandi Metro Station has also reached its final stages.

At night, the numerous Metro cranes operating at the site cause problems, forcing traffic to be halted. Vehicles are forced to take alternate routes. This entire part connects to National Highway-19, where the metro track will be connected. The target has been set to complete the construction work in this part in the next one and a half years.
