UPSSF was till now deployed in the security system of Agra Metro but from today the responsibility of security of Agra Court premises has also been officially handed over to UPSSF. Today, after taking charge, UPSSF jawans patrolled the entire court premises and inspected every corner of the court. 102 UPSSF jawans have been deployed in Agra Court premises who will now handle the entire security system which includes 100 male and 2 female personnel.

According to media reports, PM Modi can inaugurate Agra Metro in the last days of February. Even before this, the name of Jama Masjid metro station has been changed here. Now it has been named Mankameshwar Station. The people of Agra had demanded this from Yogi government and UPMRC.

The priority corridor of the Agra Metro is likely to commence operations by February 2024, six months earlier than the originally scheduled date in August 2024. The tunnel work has been completed in a record time of 11 months after the tunnel boring machine was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in February last year. In February 2023, CM Adityanath had commissioned two tunnel boring machines (TBMs) – Yamuna and Ganga – to build a 3 km long tunnel of the 6 km priority corridor.

The team of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) will make special arrangements to save rats and termites from the metro. They will be given contract to kill them. Only water and cold drinks will be allowed to be carried in the metro. If passengers are caught eating pizza or burger in the coach, then in the first instance the passengers will be warned and then further action will be taken.

100 submersible and hand pumps falling within the underground metro track of Agra Metro are going to be closed. The team of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) will uproot the pipe and hand it over to the concerned building owner or the department. The team has sent this information to the Municipal Corporation and Water Department officials. The metro track in the city will be thirty km long. The first corridor from Sikandra Tiraha to TDI Mall will be 14 km long. It will have seven and a half km underground track.
