Line 2 History, Facts & Expansion

The Delhi–Meerut RRTS is India's first high-speed regional rapid transit system, designed to efficiently connect Delhi with Meerut.

Line 2 is part of the Delhi–Meerut RRTS metro network, a rapid transit system in the Indian city of Meerut.

The section from Sarai Kale Khan to New Ashok Nagar is operational from June 2025.

It is operated by DB RRTS Operations India, a subsidiary of Germany's Deutsche Bahn.

In the future, the Meerut Metro will be integrated with the RRTS, enhancing regional connectivity, and similar RRTS projects such as the Lucknow–Kanpur RRTS are under development.
