Indore Metro Yellow Line Extension

The line will have 29 stations and is designed to improve connectivity across Indore. The priority section began operations in May 2025, while the corridor is expected to be fully completed by 2030.

On Monday, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava reprimanded Metro officials for the poor condition of roads amid Metro construction work in Indore. The mayor expressed his displeasure at the condition of the road from Lavkush Square to Bapat Square and asked why service roads hadn't been built when the bridges were already completed. He said that it had been 20 days since the rains stopped, yet not even a kilometer of the road had been repaired.

Two months have passed since the metro service started in Indore. Initially, the citizens were seen travelling with enthusiasm, but now the number of passengers has decreased. The metro management has changed the time of metro operation on the super priority corridor. Now the metro will run from 1 pm to 7 pm from Monday to Saturday. Earlier this service was operated from 10 am to 6 pm.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said in a program organized at Shipra Vihar on Friday night that now Indore and Ujjain are no longer separate. A metropolitan city is being developed by combining Indore, Ujjain, Shajapur (Maksi), Dewas and Dhar. The central government has sent approval of Rs 850 crore for the Indore-Ujjain metro project. The state's first three-level elevated bridge will be built in Ujjain (MP First Three Layer Bridge Ujjain), in which the metro train will run on the top floor.

Now underground work for the metro train has also started in Indore. It is starting with the construction of an underground metro station at the airport. Big machines have arrived here and digging has also started. A station will be built outside the airport till Bijasan Tekri. This will be Indore's first underground station, which will connect the underground and elevated tracks. The metro track will gradually rise upwards from the airport. For this, metro pillars have been constructed at different heights till the airport road.

The following stations are now named as: Gandhi Nagar Station - Now Maa Ahilyabai Metro Station, Super Corridor Station - Now Rani Avantika Metro Station, Vijay Nagar Station - Now Rani Durgavati Metro Station, Radha Swami Station - Now Jhalkari Bai Metro Station, Khajrana Station - Now Operation Sindoor Metro Station
