Pink Line History, Facts & Expansion
- Jaipur Metro Pink Line is also known by its other name Jaipur East-West Corridor.
- The Pink Line of Jaipur Metro is named Pink Line because it passes through the Pink City.
- This is the same metro line which was flagged off on 3 June 2015.
- Under Phase-I B, the Pink Line was extended eastwards from Chandpole station by 2.349 km. Two additional stations were built to extend the line till Badi Chaupar.
- The Pink Line has planned interchange with the Orange Line of Jaipur Metro. It also connects Mansarovar, Asia's largest colony, to heritage sites like Jaipur Junction Railway Station of Indian Railways, Sindhi Camp Bus Stand, Hawa Mahal, Town Hall, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, etc.
- For Phase 1C, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) is planning to extend the Pink Line from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar.
- As per the extension plan in the DPR, the estimated project cost will be Rs 856 crore.
- The total length of the project will be 2.85 km (2.26 km underground and 0.59 km elevated).
- The project was expected to be completed by March 2025, but it missed the deadline.

For Phase 1C, the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) plans to extend the Pink Line from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar. The total project length will be 2.85 km (2.26 km underground and 0.59 km elevated). The project was expected to be completed by March 2025, but missed its deadline.
For Phase 1D, the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) plans to extend the Pink Line from Mansarovar to Ajmer Road. After receiving public feedback, the corporation has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for Phase 1D. According to the DPR, this extension will span 1.312 km.
