The Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited (RMRC) has received bids from 13 firms for the first civil contract of Jaipur Metro Phase 2. In October 2025, RMRC had issued a tender for this contract worth Rs 1145.14 crore and it falls under package NCB: 2C-01.

Line 2 of the Jaipur Metro is set to significantly improve connectivity to the city's airport, with plans to provide direct underground passage from the Airport Metro Station to all passenger terminals. Following recent consultations between the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) and airport authorities, it was confirmed that passengers will be able to travel between the metro station and the three terminals via dedicated tunnels and supported shuttle services. Jaipur Airport, which currently operates with two terminal buildings, will have a third addition when Line 2 becomes operational.

The Jaipur Metro project progressed as the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase-2 of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project was approved during the Public Investment Board (PIB) meeting chaired by the Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Union Ministry of Finance on December 11. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase-II of the Jaipur Metro describes the main transit corridor stretching in the north-south direction, covering 42.80 km from Todi Mor to Prahladpura and comprising 36 proposed stations.

There is confusion regarding the expansion of Metro Line 1C in Jaipur. The state government has decided to conduct a feasibility survey for this project once again. After this decision, not only questions have started being raised on the project, but resentment has also increased regarding the traffic restrictions imposed on Jaipur-Delhi Road for two years.

This morning, Jaipur Metro trains suddenly developed a technical fault, due to which the movement of the metro was disrupted for about two and a half hours. Thousands of people who left for work early in the morning were stranded at the station and had to face a lot of trouble due to the delay. According to the Metro administration, this problem occurred at around six in the morning. There was a technical fault in the software system of the metro running from Mansarovar to Badi Chaupad. This disrupted the operation of trains. Due to technical fault, some trains got delayed from their scheduled time.
