Red Line History, Facts & Expansion
- The Red Line is Lucknow Metro's North-South corridor, from CCS International Airport (Amausi) to Munshi Pulia.
- It is about 22.9 km long with 21 stations, mostly elevated with an underground section through Hussainganj, Sachivalaya and Hazratganj.
- The Transport Nagar-Charbagh priority section opened to the public on 6 September 2017 after its inauguration on 5 September 2017.
- The full line to CCS International Airport and Munshi Pulia was inaugurated on 8 March 2019.
- Trains run as four-car sets built by Alstom, with a top speed of 80-90 km/h.
- Daily ridership is around 80,000-90,000, with a record of about 1.3 lakh passengers on 1 January 2024.
