2023-04-05 - The engineers of J Kumar Infraprojects has started tunneling of 3.56 km underground strecth (Surat Railway Station – Chowk Bazar Ramp) of Surat Metro Rail Project, Phase 1. The Terratec make Ø 6.61m diameter refurbished earth pressure balance machine "nicknamed Diya" was commissioned last week at Surat Metro station for tunneling under Package UG2/CS3.

2022-07-13 - Surat Metro will have a total of 38 stations. Of these, 32 will be elevated and the remaining 6 will be underground. The first corridor (Red Line) will be spread over 21 km. It will have 15 km elevated section and 6.5 km underground section. There will be a total of 20 stations on the Red Line, while there will be 18 stations on the Green Line. All stations on the Green Line will be elevated.
