Interesting facts about Noida Metro Aqua line
- Noida Metro Line 1, also known as the Aqua Line, is an important part of the Delhi Metro network that serves the Noida and Greater Noida areas.
- This line is operational from 25 January 2019. It was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
- The Aqua Line extends over a distance of approximately 29.7 kilometres, covering 21 metro stations from Sector 51 in Noida to the depot in Greater Noida.
- This line has an interchange station with Delhi Metro at Noida Sector 52 metro station.
- The line initially operated with 19 four-coach trainsets built by CRRC Nanjing Puzhen, which was later expanded to 22 trainsets.
Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension in Phase 2
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the extension of Aqua Line Metro in Noida and Greater Noida. This new corridor will be 17.435 km long, which will connect Sector-51 of Noida to Knowledge Park-5 of Greater Noida West and will have 11 stations. Apart from this, there is also a plan to connect Aqua Line with Delhi Metro\'s Blue Line (Noida City Centre).
Under this expansion, there is a plan to extend the Aqua Line to Noida International Airport at Jewar. This extension will be about 37 km long and will connect Noida and Greater Noida to the airport with new stations.
There are also additional proposed extension corridors under planning, such as an 11.5 km link from Sector‑142 to Botanical Garden (with eight stations) to connect the Aqua Line with Magenta and Blue Lines of the Delhi Metro, and a Depot to Boraki extension, all designed to expand metro coverage in Noida and Greater Noida and improve integration with the wider NCR metro network.

The Noida Metro in Uttar Pradesh is planning an expansion by February-March, with services extending from Botanical Garden to Sector-142. NMRC Managing Director Dr. Lokesh M. presented the plan to the Public Investment Board, where the response was positive. Approval is expected within a week, after which the tendering process will begin. Meanwhile, the detailed design drawings will also be completed; a company has already been selected for this work.

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is constructing a metro project in Agra at a cost of approximately ₹8,000 crore. Construction work from RBS College Metro Station to Khandari Ramp, part of the first corridor from Sikandra to Taj East Gate, has been completed. Track laying is also progressing rapidly. RBS College Metro Station will provide improved connectivity for college-goers and passengers traveling to and from nearby areas such as Delhi Gate, Sanjay Place, and Khandari.
