Interesting facts about Noida Metro Aqua line
- Noida Metro Line 1, also known as the Aqua Line, is an important part of the Delhi Metro network that serves the Noida and Greater Noida areas.
- This line is operational from 25 January 2019. It was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
- The Aqua Line extends over a distance of approximately 29.7 kilometres, covering 21 metro stations from Sector 51 in Noida to the depot in Greater Noida.
- This line has an interchange station with Delhi Metro at Noida Sector 52 metro station.
- The line initially operated with 19 four-coach trainsets built by CRRC Nanjing Puzhen, which was later expanded to 22 trainsets.
Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension in Phase 2
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the extension of Aqua Line Metro in Noida and Greater Noida. This new corridor will be 17.435 km long, which will connect Sector-51 of Noida to Knowledge Park-5 of Greater Noida West and will have 11 stations. Apart from this, there is also a plan to connect Aqua Line with Delhi Metro's Blue Line (Noida City Centre).
Under this expansion, there is a plan to extend the Aqua Line to Noida International Airport at Jewar. This extension will be about 37 km long and will connect Noida and Greater Noida to the airport with new stations.

Yogi Adityanath has approved the expansion of the Aqua Line Metro Corridor in Noida. The metro will connect Noida to Knowledge Park in Greater Noida. There will be 11 new metro stations on this 17.435 km long route. This project costing Rs 2,991 crore will make travel between Noida and Greater Noida easy and convenient.
◷ 2024-12-05 | ☍ ABP NewsThere will be parking at 16 stations of Noida Greno Metro line. Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has issued tender for this. Agencies can apply till 25th November. There are 21 metro stations on this line. NMRC officials said that out of 21 stations, only three-four stations have parking facility, whereas out of 21 metro stations, 16 stations have sufficient space for parking.
◷ 2024-11-11 | ☍ BhaskarUP Cabinet has approved the DPR (Detail Project Report) for adding two more stations to the existing line of Aqua Line Metro of Noida Metro. After this expansion, for the first time Noida Metro will reach near rural areas. This expansion of the metro route will cost approximately Rs 416 crore 34 lakh. In this, two new metro stations Junpat Gaon and Bodaki will be built. Depot is the last station of Aqua Line Metro between Noida-Greater Noida, which will now be extended from here to Bodaki.
◷ 2024-03-11 | ☍ DNAAccording to TOI, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has proposed a revised route plan for the extension of the Blue Line from Noida Electronic City to improve multi-modal connectivity. The plan includes construction of a metro station at Shahiabad opposite the rapid rail at Vasundhara. The five stations on the proposed route – Vaibhav Khand, DPS Indirapuram, Shakti Khand, Vasundhara Sector 5 and Sahibabad – will pass through Indirapuram and Vasundhara.
◷ 2023-12-22 | ☍ DNANoida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) will set up parking facilities at eight stations of the Aqua Line. These stations are Sector 101, 83, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147 and 148. Each facility will be built to accommodate approximately 300 vehicles. As of now, there are parking lots at eight stations – Sectors 51, 76, 137, 142, NSEZ, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1 and Delta 1.
