Interesting facts about Ahmedabad Metro Violet line
- The first part of the second phase covers a distance of 21 kilometres and includes eight new metro stations.
- Phase 2 will integrate with the current part 2 of Phase 1, eventually connecting Sector 1 of Gandhinagar to Mahatma Mandir, an important convention and exhibition centre.
- The project is developed by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) in collaboration with the state and central governments.
- The project will connect major locations such as Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), GIFT City, Raison, Randesan, Dholakuwa, Infocity and Sector-1.
- The new extension will dramatically reduce travel time between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, which are about 25 km apart.

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Ltd on Sunday said it is planning to launch the metro rail link between Narendra Modi Stadium, Mahatma Mandir and Gift City in May-June this year after getting mandatory permissions. GMRC conducted the trial run of the metro between Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) and Gujarat International Finance-Tech City (GIFT City) as part of Phase-2 of the metro project.
