- The Red Line of the Ahmedabad Metro is part of the city's rapid transit system.
- The North-South corridor of Phase-1 of Ahmedabad Metro, known as the Red Line, has a total length of 18.87 kilometres.
- There are 15 stations on the Red Line. Some of the major stations on this line include Apparel Park, Nirant Cross Road, Gurukul Road and Gujarat University.
- Phase-1 of the North-South Corridor was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 September 2022. This line became operational to the public on 6 October 2022.
- Tendering for Phase 2 started in January 2020. On 18 January 2021, the foundation stone of Phase-2 was laid by Prime Minister Modi. It is expected to be operational by August 2024.
