- The Red Line of the Ahmedabad Metro is part of the city's rapid transit system.
- The North-South corridor of Phase-1 of Ahmedabad Metro, known as the Red Line, has a total length of 18.87 kilometres.
- There are 15 stations on the Red Line. Some of the major stations on this line include Apparel Park, Nirant Cross Road, Gurukul Road and Gujarat University.
- Phase-1 of the North-South Corridor was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 September 2022. This line became operational to the public on 6 October 2022.

Ahmedabad Metro Red Line Extension in Phase 2
The Ahmedabad Metro's Red Line is being extended as part of the second phase of the metro expansion, which will connect Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The extension will add 20 stations and cover a distance of 22.84 km. The extension is expected to be completed by 2026.

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Ltd on Sunday said it is planning to launch the metro rail link between Narendra Modi Stadium, Mahatma Mandir and Gift City in May-June this year after getting mandatory permissions. GMRC conducted the trial run of the metro between Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) and Gujarat International Finance-Tech City (GIFT City) as part of Phase-2 of the metro project.
