About Election Museum
The Election Museum and Education Center is the first museum built to showcase the election and its legacy. It has been built in the office premises of the Chief Electoral Officer at Kashmere Gate in North Delhi. This museum has historical significance as Mahatma Gandhi started his freedom movement from this building. The center was inaugurated on 18th October, 2016 by Dr. Naseem Zaidi, Hon'ble Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India in the august presence of Election Commissioners Sh. The aim of the museum was to create a place of learning to understand elections and election management. It has a total of four sections - Library, Audio-Visual Room, Photo Gallery and Electoral Management Section, which houses a rare and fine collection of photographs, maps, artefacts and more than 200 records. The center presents the remarkable journey of Indian elections that has moved the nation and influenced countries across the globe to preserve and cherish the values of election management.
