Jal Mandir is located in Nalanda district of Bihar. It is believed to be the place where Lord Mahavira, the 24th Jain Tirthankar, attained Parinirvana. The temple was built by King Nandivardhana, the elder brother of Mahavira. It is the most important pilgrimage place for Jains. The temple is built inside a pond filled with red colored lotus flowers which is made of pristine white marble.
It is one of the five main temples of Pavapuri, bearing the "Charan Paduka" or the footprints of Mahavira. Many people visit the temple everyday.
