Patrika Gate, Jaipur

Patrika Gate, also called Patrika Darwaza, is a striking modern monument inaugurated in 2016 and officially opened by the Prime Minister in 2020. It was built as a tribute to Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage by the Patrika Group. Located at the entrance of Jawahar Circle Garden, one of Asia’s largest circular parks, the gate reflects the state’s history through colorful frescoes and traditional designs The structure combines historical Rajputana architectural styles with modern design, attracting visitors from all over India and abroad. Patrika Gate is a modern version of traditional Rajputana architecture, combining old design elements with modern construction techniques. Built mainly with pink sandstone and concrete, it reflects Jaipur’s famous “Pink City” look. The design follows Vastu principles, focusing on balance, proportion, and lucky geometric patterns, which can be seen in the arrangement of its pavilions and arches. The gate is decorated with intricate frescoes and murals on the arches, pillars, and ceilings, showcasing Rajasthan’s folk art, festivals, and royal history.
