About Moti Dungari Temple

Moti Dungri is a Hindu temple complex dedicated to Lord Ganesha in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The history of Moti Dungri Temple is linked to the history of Jaipur. It was built by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal in the beginning of the 18th century. The temple is named "Moti Dungri" meaning "Hill of Pearls" in English, and is so named because of its pearl-like appearance. The idol of Lord Ganesha installed in the temple is more than five hundred years old, the trunk of the vermilion colored Ganesha icon is on the right side. The temple has been a place of worship and devotion for generations of residents and visitors to Jaipur.

Architecture of Moti Dungari Temple

The layout and structure of Moti Dungri is built in Nagara style and is based on the model of Scottish castles. There are three entrances and some stairs in front. It was built using limestone and marble and the construction work was completed in 4 months. The domed structure and intricate carvings of the temple are a testament to the rich architectural heritage of the region.
