Blue Line History, Facts & Expansion

  • The Bhoj Metro Blue Line is part of the proposed Bhopal MetroLight, an urban light rail transit (LRT) system in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.
  • There is a plan to connect Blue Line Karond Circle to AIIMS Bhopal. It will be one of the major corridors of the Bhopal Metro network, serving important locations along its route.
  • The entire Blue Line, covering a total distance of 27.9 kilometres, is part of the Phase 1 project of Bhopal Metro and will be implemented as a single civil package known as BH-05.
  • The depot will be shared with the 14.99 km Orange Line, which will connect Karondh Circle to AIIMS, and will serve as a hub for maintenance and stabilization of 27 Alstom Movia train sets.
