Red Line History, Facts & Expansion

The Red Line is a proposed future corridor of Bhopal Metro under Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (MPMRCL).
Bhopal's metro master plan proposes six lines to be built in three phases.
In 2024, a survey was carried out for an additional corridor, reported as roughly 16.7 km from the Airport area towards Banjari Chowk.
The final alignment and station list for the Red Line have not been approved.
No construction work has started as of October 2026.
