Rapid Metro Line 1 Extension Plan
The Rapid Metro Line 1 extension will cover a total distance of 28.5 km and will include 27 elevated stations. The project is estimated to cost ₹5,452 crore and construction is expected to begin by May 1, 2025. The extension will start from the Millennium City Centre metro station and move towards Cyber City, passing through major areas like old Gurgaon. The project is being executed by Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL), a special purpose vehicle set up by the Haryana government.

2026-02-09 - After the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) shifted the Delhi-Shahjanpur-Behro Metro Rail Line to the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, the Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has decided to change the route of the old Gurugram Metro Line along the Old Delhi Road. The revised Metro route will now go towards the Delhi border up to Dundahera and then turn towards Shankar Chowk on NH-48. This change will allow the Metro to cover more areas of Old Delhi Road and Udyog Vihar, and will provide more space for construction of tracks and stations.

2026-01-15 - हरियाणा सरकार के शहरी विकास विभाग के प्रधान सलाहकार डी.एस. धेसी की अध्यक्षता में हुई समीक्षा बैठक में यह निर्णय लिया गया कि डिपो का निर्माण 400 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की लागत से किया जाएगा । जीएमआरएल के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि वे इस वर्ष मई तक सेक्टर 44 से सुभाष चौक तक मेट्रो स्तंभों पर कंक्रीट के पुल बिछाना शुरू कर देंगे। जीएमआरएल के अधिकारियों के अनुसार, सेक्टर 5 से गुरुग्राम रेलवे स्टेशन तक दो किलोमीटर लंबी सहायक लाइन के माध्यम से पुरानी गुरुग्राम मेट्रो लाइन को गुरुग्राम मेट्रो से जोड़ा जाएगा। सेक्टर 5 में एक इंटरचेंज स्टेशन का निर्माण किया जाएगा, जो प्रस्तावित भोंडसी मेट्रो लाइन और पुरानी गुरुग्राम मेट्रो को जोड़ेगा।

2026-01-08 - हरियाणा अर्बन डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी (HSVP) ने बुधवार को गुरुग्राम मेट्रो प्रोजेक्ट के लिए उमंग भारद्वाज चौक से बसई तालाब तक ज़मीन का सर्वे किया। HSVP अधिकारियों के मुताबिक, सर्वे के दौरान पता चला कि पहले फेज़ में मिलेनियम सिटी सेंटर से बसई तालाब तक बन रही मेट्रो रेल लाइन के रास्ते में चार से पांच स्ट्रक्चर आ रहे थे।
