About Kali Bari

Kali Bari is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Kali and is located in New Delhi. The temple committee was formalized in 1935 with Subhash Chandra Bose as its first chairman and the temple building was inaugurated by Sir Justice Manmath Nath Mukherjee. The temple was built in a style reminiscent of Bengali temple architecture. Kali is a powerful and often fierce goddess in Hinduism. She is associated with destruction of evil forces, protection and empowerment. Kali is depicted with black skin, wild hair, a garland of skulls and a sword.
