Situated at Dakshineswar on the eastern bank of River Hoogly in the city of Kolkata, this popular shrine is a famous pilgrim spot devoted to Goddess Kali. This architectural masterwork is one of the most sacred places in the town. It was also the dweling of the famous yogi, Ramkrishna Paramhansa. The massive complex of the temple has 12 individual temples dedicated to different Gods like Radha Krishna, Lord Shiva to name a few. There is also a bathing ghat and it is said that one who bathes here and visits this temple attains moksh.
