Mumbai Metro Red Line Overview

Mumbai Metro Line 9 extends the Red Line north from Dahisar East to Mira-Bhayandar, covering about 11.4 km. The first 4.7 km section from Dahisar East to Kashigaon, with Pandurang Wadi, Miragaon and Kashigaon stations, opened on 8 April 2026. The remaining stretch to Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium in Bhayandar is under construction and expected to open in the coming months. Red Line History, Facts & Expansion

Line 9 extends the Red Line (Line 7) from Dahisar East to Mira Road and Bhayandar.
The full corridor is about 11.4 km long with 7 new stations beyond Dahisar East.
The Dahisar East-Kashigaon section, about 4.7 km with Pandurang Wadi, Miragaon and Kashigaon stations, opened to passengers on 8 April 2026.
The Kashigaon-Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium section, with 4 stations, was still under construction as of October 2026.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Line 9 in December 2018.
The line will connect with the proposed Line 10 at Miragaon (Shivaji Chowk) and the proposed Line 13 to Virar.
Lines 7, 7A and 9 together will form a Red Line corridor of about 31 km.
Line 9 is owned by MMRDA and operated by MMMOCL along with Lines 2A and 7.
Its depot is planned at Rai-Murdhe in Bhayandar.
The line runs along the Western Express Highway and Mira-Bhayandar Road.
It is the first metro line serving the Mira-Bhayandar municipal area.
