Mumbai Metro Yellow Line Overview
The Yellow Line 2B extends Mumbai Metro Line 2 from D.N. Nagar in Andheri West to Mandale in Mankhurd via Juhu, Bandra, BKC, Kurla and Chembur. The roughly 23.6 km elevated corridor will have about 20 stations. Its eastern section from Mandale to Diamond Garden opened on 8 April 2026, and Chembur station followed on 13 August 2026. Yellow Line History, Facts & Expansion
- Line 2B runs from D.N. Nagar (Andheri West) to Mandale (Mankhurd).
- It is about 23.6 km long and fully elevated, with around 20 stations.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid its foundation stone on 24 December 2016.
- The Mandale-Diamond Garden section opened on 8 April 2026 with stations including Mandale, Mankhurd, Deonar, Chembur Shivaji Chowk and Diamond Garden.
- Chembur station opened on 13 August 2026.
- The Mandale depot, one of Mumbai's largest metro depots, will serve Lines 2A and 2B.
- The line will connect with Line 1, the Aqua Line at BKC, the Monorail at Chembur and suburban rail at Bandra and Kurla.
- Line 2B will be operated by MMMOCL with BEML-built trains like Line 2A.
- Diamond Garden station serves the Chembur market area.
- The line runs along S.V. Road, Juhu, Bandra, BKC and the Sion-Panvel Highway.
- Mandale depot is double-decked with dozens of stabling lines.
