Gold Line History, Facts & Expansion
- The Gold Line, also known as Line 8, is an Airport Express Line part of the metro system for the city of Navi Mumbai.
- It will provide direct connectivity from CSMIA airport in Mumbai to NMIA airport in Navi Mumbai.
- This will be the first Mass Rapid Transit system connecting Navi Mumbai and Mumbai.
- The Gold Line will cover a distance of approximately 35 km (21.74 mi).
- The entire line will be completely elevated.
- A total of eight metro stations are proposed on this route.
- The trains are expected to run with a frequency of 15 minutes.
- The project is estimated to be completed by December 2027.
Mumbai Metro Line 8 (Gold Line) Extension
Line 8 will provide direct connectivity from CSMIA airport in Mumbai to NMIA airport in Navi Mumbai. The 35 km (21.74 mi) line will be completely elevated. Eight metro stations have been proposed on this line with a frequency of 15 minutes.
