On Tuesday, a senior official of the Shipping Ministry said that the Kochi Water Metro model can be adopted in many other places like Kolkata, Mumbai, Guwahati and Goa. In a virtual meeting chaired by MoPSW Secretary TK Ramachandran, senior officials from around 30 states and union territories are coming together to deliberate on ensuring comprehensive development of maritime and waterway transport across India.

And after the completion of the ring work, the metro train will run over the ring. Metro trains will enter and exit Guwahati through the ring.
