Interesting facts about Hyderabad Metro Blue line
- Hyderabad Metro Line 2, also known as the Green Line, is part of the Hyderabad Metro.
- The line is 27 km long and spans 23 stations from Nagole to Rayadurg.
- A special purpose vehicle company, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (L&TMRHL), was set up by construction company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to develop the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
- Line 2 provides important interchanges with other metro lines at important stations such as MG Bus Station (interchange with Line 1 – Red Line) and Parade Ground (interchange with Line 3 – Blue Line).
- The 16.8 kilometers (10.4 mi) length of the Blue Line with 14 stations from Nagole to Ameerpet was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 November 2017.
- A 10 km section with 8 stations between Ameerpet and HITEC City was opened on 20 March 2019.
- Peddamma Gudi, Madhapur and Jubilee Hills check posts were opened on 30 March, 13 April and 18 May 2019 respectively.
- The last 1.5 km section from HITEC City to Raidurg was opened on 29 November 2019.
- In Phase 2, Hyderabad Airport will be connected to Rayadurg Metro Station by metro and the Blue Line is proposed to be extended by 5 km from Nagole to LB Nagar.
- The Blue Line will be extended by 800 meters to the multi-level Raidurg station from where the Hyderabad Airport Metro Express will start.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) on Sunday, January 19 announced the route map for the second phase of the metro extension. This new route will connect Miyapur to Patancheru, covering a distance of 13.4 km and includes ten proposed stations including Patancheru, Miyapur, Alwyn X Road, Madinaguda, Chanda Nagar, Jyothi Nagar, BHEL, RC Puram and Beeramguda. However, these station names are tentative and are subject to change.
